Fred’s Top 10: Movie Trailers (1/2)

10. A Serious Man (2009)

Despite this well-crafted theatrical trailer, an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture, I still couldn’t enjoy this movie as much as I wanted to. Oh well. This trailer will forever live on in my memory.

9. The Road (2009)

While, I believe this trailer does not do the movie justice at all, this trailer was enough to get me extremely interested and willing to drive over an hour to a rundown movie theater. And unlike most trailers, this one actually doesn’t give away anything in the movie and actually pushes forward a non-existent plot in the movie. Well worth the experience.

8. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly (1966)

Five seconds into this trailer and you already know what you’re in for: Clint Eastwood at his most bad-ass. I mean, the dude lights a cannon with a cigar while one of the best film soundtracks plays! Really, what more do you need? Easily one of the most memorable and iconic movies of all time backed with a fantastic trailer.

7. Star Wars:  The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

Say what you will about the cheese factor in this trailer, but goddamn, if this isn’t amazing. Even the cheesy-ass narrative adds a little something special to the whole thing. What I would give to have seen this baby in the theaters before knowing anything about it.

Mission: Impossible 3 (2006)

After most were unimpressed with Mission: Impossible 2, most people thought the series would just end. Even after announcement of a third entry, everybody remained on the “ehh” side of things. Once this trailer premiered it was Mission: Impossible 3 all the way.

5-1 Coming Soon…

Here’s a good movie trailer: hilarious Get Him to the Greek trailer. It has all kinds of extras, like short clips ~>
