Dennis Hopper (1936 – 2010)

Actor Dennis Hopper passed away today (Saturday, May 29th) at the age of 74 from complications of prostate cancer at his home in the Los Angeles suburb of Venice at 8:15AM, surrounded by family and friends.

His careeer spanned more than 50 years and included two Oscar nominations (co-writing Easy Rider, starring in Hoosiers). He starred in Rebel Without a Cause, Apocalypse Now, Blue Velvet, Speed, Giant, and countless other films.

The actor became ill last September, but continued working on the cable TV series Crash and on a book showcasing his photography. Hopper was honored with a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame in March.
