‘Ghost Rider’ Recast?

Columbia Pictures is in a bit of a rut. They need to kick off a sequel or remake or anything to Ghost Rider before November, otherwise they lose the rights. No biggie, right? Just make an announcement about a sequel, sign a director, and get rolling. Only problem is, star Nicolas Cage is locked up on projects. Columbia is hoping to extend the contract before time runs out.

Honestly, I hope they just let the rights revert back to Disney/Marvel. The first Ghost Rider movie was laughable and I don’t see any hope in a second. Don’t count on that to actually happen though. If a recast is necessary, expect a remake to be announced very shortly.

Scott Gimple and Seth Hoffman have already completed a script for Ghost Rider 2.
