Spike Lee Directs ‘Brooklyn Loves Michael Jackson’

Just when you thought you heard the last of ol’ Michael Jackson… *sigh*

According to gossip mag PopEater, Spike Lee is apparently devoloping a Michael Jackson tribute film titled Brooklyn Loves Michael Jackson. Lee was apparently hit hard from the death of the pop musician and used his grief to pen the script.

During press for the film Mother and Child, Samuel L. Jackson- whom will reportedly star in Spike Lee’s film- explained that the movie will follow people who want to throw a concert in Brooklyn for Michael…

“and the new gentrified people that live in the neighborhood (who) are worried about the kind of elements that might be coming into the neighborhood.

Showbiz 411 is also reporting that John Turturro, Julianne Moore, and Rosie Perez are in line to star. The film has a tentative release date of 2012.
